New York, Mar. 31 - Gregory Josefowicz, the combative chairman of Borders Books, blasted back at his on-line critics today in a scathing on-line letter singling out right-wing blogger Charles Johnson of "Little Green Footballs".
Borders Books has been criticized by several prominent right-wing bloggers, including Mr. Johnson and Mr. Glenn Reynolds (the "InstaPundit") for refusing to carry the April/May issue of the "Free Inquiry" featuring the controversial Mohammed cartoons. These cartoons are believed to have triggered demonstrations, rioting, and violence throughout Europe.
Said Mr. Josefowicz in his open letter, 'Charles, I've got a book store to run and having you sic a bunch of bloggers on me and tell them to ride my a** because we're not shelving a pip-squeak magazine from those tools at the "Council for Secular Humanism" (Jesus wept!) is just not getting it done.'
Mr. Josefowicz also cited fears of violence, writing that "Borders owes the people who work for it a safe day's work." He noted that no major U.S. publication has printed the controversial cartoons.
Mr. Johnson was not available for comment, although he had a one-word reaction at his blog: "Heh".
